Joseph "Joey" Desjarlais is wanted in connection with a pair of armed thefts in Wadena and Foam Lake.

RCMP are on the hunt for an individual who committed two armed robberies in Wadena and Foam Lake.  

Wadena RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery of a business in Wadena on September 8 at approximately 11:45 pm. Investigation determined that a man brandishing what appeared to be a firearm entered the business and stole merchandise.  

Then, on September 9 approximately 1:20 a.m., Wadena RCMP received a report of a break and enter at a business in Foam Lake. It was determined that an adult male threw an unknown object at the business’s glass door, shattering it and setting off the security alarm. He entered the building with an apparent firearm and again stole items. He left the scene in a black Jeep Patriot with Saskatchewan license plate 621 NNC. 

Neither of the incidents resulted in injuries.  

As a result of continued investigation, 34-year-old Joseph “Joey” Desjarlais from Fishing Lake First Nation is charged with: 

  • one count, robbery with a weapon; 

  • one count, break, enter and commit; and 

  • two counts, using an imitation firearm in an offence. 

RCMP are actively searching for Desjarlais and are seeking information from the public on his whereabouts.  

Joseph “Joey” Desjarlais is described as approximately 5’7” tall and 130 lbs. He has brown eyes, short brown hair, and a short beard. Joseph “Joey” Desjarlais was last seen wearing a light brown hoodie and a fanny pack. He has tattoos of the words ‘public’ and ‘enemy’ with flames on his hands, and ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ tattooed on the right side of his neck. 

If you see Desjarlais, do not approach him. Report all sightings and information about the whereabouts of Joseph “Joey” Desjarlais to Wadena RCMP at 310-RCMP.
