The inaugural Fall Fling was held in Carnduff this weekend, celebrating the community and the change of seasons.

"It was awesome. It was our very first time having this event, and we hope that it's going to be a continued event in the community," said Rachelle Apperley, an organizer of the event.

Around 300 to 400 people attended throughout the day, with about 200 enjoying the pancake breakfast.

There were several events for participants, including a pancake breakfast, market, pet parade, vegetable contest, bouncy castles, food trucks, car show, and a pie-eating contest. "The fire department did demonstrations for the kids, so they got to spray the water hose, and they had a Jaws of Life demonstration, which was awesome for the kids to see." The night ended with fireworks and a street dance.

The event was free to attend, with only food trucks requiring payment. Apperley said the Fall Fling was introduced to replace the town's former July 1st (Canada Day) celebrations, which had ended a few years ago, giving the community a new annual event to look forward to.

Apperley noted that feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with the community enjoying the wide variety of events.
