The deadline to submit a video audition for the Okotoks' Got Talent is fast approaching.
It's a new fundraiser event for the United Way & Okotoks Partnership.
Video auditions can be submitted until September 15, after which they'll be reviewed, with live auditions for selected acts planned for November.
The event itself is set for March 7, 2025, with tickets expected to go on sale soon.
They're calling for anyone and everyone with a talent or unique gift to submit auditions for the family-friendly event.
"We're looking for any talent you might have that you'd love to showcase to the community. Juggling, tapdancing, we're just looking for some really diverse talents that you would see on something like America's Got Talent," says Megan Braun, town liaison with the United Way & Okotoks Partnership.
She says they're hoping to see a wide array of unique talents.
"It's kind of threefold because it's a fundraiser, it's also to showcase what's out there, but the third thing is that it's bringing people together for a bigger purpose. Let's bring people together and have some fun... We'd love to see all those different talents, we don't want people to be shy to bring those forward."
Funds raised by the United Way of Okotoks are distributed to local wellness programs, with some recent examples including the Foothills Country Hospice's Community Bereavement Boxes Program, Inclusion Foothills' Family Support Program, and the Physical Activity Registration Support from KidSport Okotoks.
