This Saturday, September 14th, Winkler will be abuzz with excitement as Hometown Ford presents the "Shock and Roll EV Learn and Drive" event. Running from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the event promises a comprehensive introduction to electric vehicles (EVs) while also supporting a wonderful local charity.

Sales Manager Brian Derksen from Hometown Service is leading the charge for this event. His enthusiasm for EVs and community service is infectious, and he's eager to share his knowledge with the public. "We want to give everyone a chance to experience what it's like to drive an electric vehicle firsthand," Brian explains. "It's not just about the cars; it's about understanding how they fit into our lives and how we can make the transition to EVs smoother and more enjoyable."

The event will feature a variety of electric and hybrid vehicles from Hometown Ford's impressive lineup. Attendees will have the chance to test drive models like the full-electric F-150, the stylish Mustang Mach-E, and the versatile Transit cargo vans. Each test drive will be completely free, and for every test drive taken, Hometown Ford will donate $10 to Katie Cares, a local charity that supports families navigating difficult times at the hospital.

In addition to the test drives, the event will offer live demonstrations on EV charging, including a showcase of Winkler’s new Level 3 fast charger, recently installed at Hometown Ford’s parking lot. This new charger, open to the public, is a significant step forward for local EV infrastructure.

Brian also hopes to dispel some common myths about EVs. "One of the biggest misconceptions is that charging an EV is difficult or impractical," he says. "We want to show people how easy it can be to set up charging at home and how to manage it for long trips. The technology has come a long way, and we're here to help everyone feel more comfortable and informed."

The "Shock and Roll EV Learn and Drive" event will also feature free coffee and doughnuts, providing a relaxed atmosphere for visitors to mingle with other community members and EV enthusiasts. Whether you're considering making the switch to an electric vehicle or just curious to learn more, this event is a perfect opportunity to dive into the world of EVs and support a great cause at the same time.

Don’t miss out on this unique chance to experience the latest in electric vehicle technology and contribute to Katie Cares. Join us at Hometown Ford this Saturday for a day of learning, driving, and community spirit! Learn more about it here.
