ROBERTA PAM ALBERT (née: Kern)

May 20th, 1959 - September 10th, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Roberta Pam Albert announce her sudden passing on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, at the age of 65 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Robert Kern and Patricia Kern.  Pam will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 years, Greg Albert; children, Jennifer (Sheldon) Albert and Jeffrey Albert; granddaughter, Jayda; brother, John Kern; as well as numerous friends and family.

Pam was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on May 20th, 1959.  She attended Victoria elementary and spent her high school years at Vanier Collegiate.  She attended school at the University of Alberta before deciding to take her Library Technician course at the Saskatchewan Technical Institute in Saskatoon, SK.  It was the summer of 1979 when Pam first met her future husband, Greg.  The story goes that in her excitement to meet her grandmother at the ranch near Broadview, SK, she stepped out into the newly poured concrete that Greg and his grandfather had just laid down.  An event that made an impression.  A few years later, on August 7th, 1982, Pam and Greg got married at the Kern family home in Moose Jaw.  They then began their newlywed lives in North Battleford, SK.  Pam would work at St. Vital and Central schools before taking on a role at the North Battleford Library.  Pam and Greg welcomed their daughter Jennifer in 1985 and then their son Jeff, in 1988.  In 1994, Pam's father made the request that the family move from North Battleford to Moose Jaw to live in the vacant family home.  Pam and Greg would have their family settled in the house in the summer of 1995.  Pam continued to call this her home until her passing.  After moving to Moose Jaw, Pam took up a position working at the Moose Jaw Public Library.  She continued to work there until her retirement in 2019.

Outside of her family, Pam had two great (and a lot of minor) passions in life, gardening and animals.  She would take great pride in her garden and exotic plants, especially her water lilies.  She was always proud to have a garden that others would envy.  Pam's love of animals extended to all of the family pets over the years.  She especially liked to see and meet the animals at the Albert family farm near Broadview where her in-laws farmed until the mid 1990s.

A small Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 14th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Rosedale Cemetery in Moose Jaw.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Pam’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Humane Society, 1755 Stadacona St W, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.

Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
