The Carstar Okotoks Bisons hit the ice for the first time Friday (Sept. 13) since winning Provincial gold last season and completing the Heritage Junior B (HJHL) three-peat as champions.

The Herd will play hosts as the Agra Risk Wheatland Kings will be in town with the game being played at Murray Arena with a 7:30 pm puck drop. It will be the first and last pre-season game for the Bisons as the regular season starts on September 20 when Okotoks welcomes the High River Flyers to Murray Arena.

The last time the Bisons and Flyers met was during the second round of the HJHL playoffs. The Herd took the best-of-five game series 3-1. The Flyers would win game one, but the Bisons finished off the gentlemen's sweep with three wins in a row.

The HJHL regular season will see the Bisons hold a four-game home stand to open the season with every game in October for the Bisons being played at Murray Arena. Their first road game doesn't come until October 4th when they head to Didsbury to face the Mountainview Colts.

The Flyers currently hold a 2-0 record in pre-season and are set to face the Airdrie Techmation Thunder Friday at Rob Ebbesen Arena in Airdrie.

Then they're headed to Strathmore for their final pre-season game against the Agra Risk Wheatland Kings on Saturday.
