Southern Alberta received a decent amount of rain over the last few days.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada Meteorologist Justin Shelley, the Foothills region saw over an inch of rain.

"Over the last 48 hours, Foothills County has received, roughly, 30 to 45 mm, depending on where you are exactly," Shelley said. "For our station at Black Diamond, they received 32.2 mm. Further south in Stavely, received 39.7 and a bit farther east over in Mossleigh, received the highest amount in the area of 47 mm over the last 48 hours."

Shelley explains that Environment Canada's records don't have information for Foothills County from the beginning of June to the end of August, but their records show that Pincher Creek received approximately 111 mm of rain in that time frame, while the Calgary region received approximately 190 mm of rain.

"Foothills County probably came somewhere in between those numbers for the summer period. So, in relation to the seasonal precipitation we've seen, it's certainly a good shot of precipitation all at once."

While Foothills County received upwards of 47 mm in the last 48 hours, the village of Rosemary in the Brooks region received 82.5 mm, which was the most received in Southern Alberta for that 48-hour period.

Shelley says the weekend should stay relatively dry, and the temperatures should be in the high teens.
