High River is going to have a couple of lane and road closures over the next week due to construction.

From September 17 and September 24, construction crews will be working from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. between 4 Street and 5 Street SE. One lane will be closed for utility work with flaggers on sight to direct traffic. No detour will be needed during the construction.

The reason for the lane closure is to access and monitor groundwater wells in the area.

The Town of High River asks that you remain cautious and follow directions from flaggers.

In addition to the work on 4 and 5 Street, road closures at the intersection of 16 Street and 12 Ave are coming.

From September 16-18, the full road will be closed, and the town asks residents and visitors to follow the detour signs which will be posted on-site. From September 19-20, there will be a lane closure at the intersection but, vehicles will be able to pass with caution.

The work being done at the intersection is for a shallow utility installation. The town advises drivers to plan their routes accordingly and to be mindful of crews working in the area.
