Foothills County is busy this weekend, with numerous events and activities happening.

This weekend is supposed to stay relatively dry for Foothills County with temperatures in the high teens.

Friday

  • The Okotoks Farmer's Market will be taking place at the Viking Rental Centre parking lot from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • The final High River Farmer's Market for the season will be taking place from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 4th Avenue SW in downtown High River.
  • Fridays are Youth Night at the Okotoks Rec Centre, where youth have exclusive access to the Youth Centre, the ORC Gymnasium, and pools from 6 to 10 p.m.
  • The Foothills Falcons football team plays at home, with the game starting at 5 p.m.
  • The HTA Knights play at home as well, with their game beginning at 6 p.m.
  • The Carstar Okotoks Bisons only game of the exhibition season will take place at Murray Arena at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday

  • Enchanted Okotoks will take over downtown Okotoks from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
  • The 2nd Annual Rubber Duck Race and Family Carnival will happen in Ethel Tucker Park from 11-3, with the Duck Race happening at noon.
  • The Okotoks Public Library will have Mr. Rayz World Music onsite for kids and families to enjoy from 11 a.m. to noon.
  • At 7 p.m., puck drops for the Okotoks Oilers, who will be taking on the Cranbrook Bucks at Vikings Rental Centre. This is also the first time they have hosted a team from B.C.
  • The Okotoks Film Festival will be hosting a movie night at Hubtown Brewing, where they will be showing The Breakfast Club. The event starts at 7 p.m.
  • From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Okotoks Art Gallery will be hosting an Art on the Lawn event.
  • The Okotoks Art Gallery will also have a MMIWG2s+ Awareness and Shirt Pin workshop from 2 to 4 p.m., and people will have the opportunity to learn about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two-Spirit and gender diverse people in Canada, as well as participating in creating a ribbon shirt pin.
  • The Sheep River parkrun is also happening. It's a free 5k event that includes walking, running, and volunteering, and begins at 9 a.m. at the Sheep River Park.
  • And finally, Baby it's Cold Outside is hosting their Black Tie Gala Fundraiser, which will include wine, cigars, bourbon, a silent auction, and more.
