The rain and cool conditions didn't keep over 100 attendees off the course at the Portage Golf Club for the Portage Terriers' fifth annual Geno Romanow Par Three Challenge.

Terriers Marketing Director Cody Buhler says that despite the weather, the event went very well.

"I think the rain to start, and pretty much throughout, put a bit of a damper on spirits, but for the most part actually, everybody overall was having a lot of fun, had a good time and tried to make the best of it."

Buhler notes that sponsors always play a massive role in this tournament.

"The reactions are always very positive. We have thousands and thousands of dollars in prizes that were given away today, and everybody was super appreciative. We couldn't do an event like this without our sponsors, and all the people who did sign up to golf. Even those who were able to golf but weren't able to play the full round, we really appreciate the support," Buhler continues. "Despite the weather, it was a great day. We had over 100 golfers here today, and it's really encouraging for the team."

One significant part of the tournament is the players' involvement, which Buhler added is a drawing card for some of those who play every year.

"One of the nice parts about our tournament is that you get to meet the team as you play. I think the players really enjoyed it, and they were great, interacting with all the golfers, and I think they had a lot of fun too."
