The Red Deer Rebels finished their preseason with a 6-4 road loss to the Edmonton Oil Kings on Saturday afternoon.

Red Deer led 1-0 after the first on a goal by Beckett Hamilton.

Jeramiah Roberts put the Rebels up 2-0 on the power play 2:45 into the second.

Joe Iginla would get Edmonton on the board 10 seconds later cutting the Red Deer lead to 2-1.

Red Deer would take a commanding 4-1 lead after second-period goals by Luke Vlooswyk and Nickolas Kovich.

Edmonton would storm back late in the second with Presley Kerner scoring two straight and Gavin Hodnett adding another to tie the game at four apiece heading into the third.

Iginla would get his second of the night and game-winner on the power play 9:32 into the final frame.

Jack Toogood would add an empty netter for the Oil Kings with one second remaining to seal the 6-4 victory.

Peyton Shore started between the pipes for Red Deer and stopped 34 of 39 shots.

Edmonton outshot Red Deer 40-37. The Rebels ended the night 1-for-4 on the power play, while the Oil Kings went 1-for-6.
