For whatever reason, photographing pheasants this spring and summer has been easier than usual. I've experienced one that owned the road and refused to move, even though I pulled up beside it. I had to wait for it to mosey over the edge of the field before I could start taking photos. And then this one, who was just content to walk along at a close distance parallel with me for as long as it took to take its photo. Typically, pheasants will run with their head down, stretched out until they find shelter. It doesn't take them long to cross the road unlike the chicken!
