Registration is now open for one of Cochrane's most exciting and adorable competitions.
Reid Kimmett with Two Pharmacy said the 12th annual Diaper Derby will take place on Saturday, Sept. 29th.
"We have children aged zero up to three race across about a 20 ft mat with their parents coaxing them with tv remotes, phones, siblings, grandmas, or whatever to try to get them across the finish line the fastest."
It takes two people to be involved with each kid, one at the start line and one at the finish line.
"There are trophies for each of the winners in each of the age categories, and then every kid who participates gets a gift bag. We try to make it like the Calgary Marathon, so each kid will get a race number that they'll put on and they'll get a swag bag."
You can enter your child in one of three different divisions:
- Crawler (0-12 months)
- Toddler (12-24 months)
- Movers (2-3 year old)
Registration is free, but participants are encouraged to donate to The Meira Memorial Fund to help support Women's Mental Health.
In addition to that, $2 from every transaction at Two Pharmacy on Sept. 29 will be donated to the Meira Memorial Fund.
There are 60 spots available but Kimmett said they're filling up fast.
