The Morden Activity Centre is pleased to announce a new series of monthly workshops designed to boost technological confidence among seniors. Starting Thursday, the "Confidence with Technology" sessions will offer hands-on support for navigating digital tools and applications.

Andrea Hiebert, who is leading the initiative, is set to present these sessions, focusing on a variety of topics including smartphones, tablets, email setup, and safe online practices. Hiebert, who works on a contract basis with the centre, aims to create a welcoming environment where seniors can enhance their tech skills at their own pace.

"The goal of these sessions is to help seniors feel more comfortable and confident using technology," said Hiebert. "We want to address common challenges and tailor our content to the needs and interests of the participants. Whether it’s troubleshooting smartphones or understanding email, we’re here to assist."

The first session is scheduled for Thursday, September 19, at 11:00 AM at the Morden Activity Centre, located at 306 N Railway Street. Subsequent sessions will be held monthly through March 2025.

Hiebert emphasized, “These workshops are for anyone who wants to improve their tech skills, not just those who identify as seniors. If you’re struggling with technology, come by and join us. It’s a free, informative, and fun way to get more comfortable with your devices.”

Topics covered will range from setting up and using smartphones and tablets to email management, online banking, and even weather apps. Hiebert also highlighted the importance of understanding safe online practices, which is crucial for anyone engaging in digital transactions.

The sessions are free to attend, with no registration required. Participants can simply show up to any of the scheduled sessions. For more information and to view the full schedule, visit the events calendar at PembinaValleyOnline.com or MordenSeniors.ca
