The Cochrane RCMP was among the first to be provided with a drone to assist during emergencies and public safety.
What better way to put it to the test than to challenge them to catch me masquerading as a criminal?
I may have underestimated the drone a little.

Well I was on the run, what I was most surprised by was how quick they were able to deploy the drone. Even with the head start, I had just hit the Fifth Ave intersection before I started to hear the buzzing of little propellers over my head.
When talking to the drone pilot, Cst. Brace, he likened it to a police helicopter that can take off from anywhere.
Once the drone spotted me, no matter how much I dipped, dived, and dodged, I couldn't shake it. It wasn't until after I was in cuffs that I found out that they had locked the inferred camera on me, which showed me as a glowing mark sprinting through Glenbow.
My life of crime was short-lived as I was on the run for about 10 minutes.
I guess I'll stick to this radio gig.
