The Carstar Okotoks Bisons opened and closed their HJHL pre-season this past weekend with a 5-4 loss to the Agra Risk Wheatland Kings.
The Kings opened the scoring early in the first period and the Bisons responded with two goals to take the lead, with one in the first period and a second on the powerplay during the second frame.
The Wheatland Kings took the lead back after answering with two goals of their own with just over a minute left in the period.
The Herd didn't give up and made it a tie game once again halfway through the third, but the Kings added the final blow with just under three minutes to take the back-and-forth tilt.
The Bisons, reigning provincial champions looking to make it four HJHL championships in a row, will start their journey on Friday at 8:00 p.m. when they host the High River Flyers for the season opener at Murray Arena.
