The Okotoks Art Gallery's Gingerbread Station is making a return.
Registrations are open for the 2024 iteration of the event, which is in its seventh year.
Everyone is welcome, with a youth category for gingerbread architects up to age 15, and an adult category for ages 16+.
There are some rules to keep in mind, including entries being required to be made entirely of edible materials. That means plastic or wooden supports or props are not allowed, and entries cannot make use of electronics.
Structures do not necessarily have to be houses or house-like structures, but there is a size limit of an 18''x18'' base and a 36'' height, as well as a weight limit of 30 pounds.
The public will vote on their favourite creations, and gift card prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in each category:
Adult 1st: $100
Adult 2nd: $75
Adult 3rd: $50
Youth 1st: $75
Youth 2nd: $50
Youth 3rd: $25
The deadline to register is November 16, and the event will run from November 22 to December 13.
