A 38-year-old man is in custody and several other arrests are expected in connection to a recent investigation that led the Winnipeg Police Service to discover around $300,000 worth of stolen property.

On Sept. 7, members of the Central District Community Support Unit were conducting proactive patrolling in the 200 block of Tecumseh Street, when they observed a pickup truck parked in an enclosed compound.

A request for a search warrant for the compound unit was requested and issued. 

Officers executed the search warrant resulting in the seizure of the observed pickup truck along with several other items including,

  • 2017 GMC Sierra (Stolen from Beausejour, MB, on June 4, 2024)
  • 2006 Ford F350 (Stolen from Winnipeg, MB, on June 17, 2024)
  • 2013 Polaris Razor (Stolen from Peguis, MB, on June 24, 2024)
  • 2018 Keystone Hideout Camper (Stolen from Rosser, MB, on June 27, 2024)
  • 2024 Kawasaki EX500 (Stolen from Winnipeg, MB, between July 14-15, 2023)
  • 2005 tow truck (Stolen from Winnipeg, MB, on July 21, 2024)
  • 1982 Harley Davidson (Stolen from Winnipeg, MB, on August 3, 2024)
  • 2012 Yamaha Grizzly (Stolen from Fisher Branch, MB, on August 19, 2024)
  • 2008 Ford F150 (Stolen from Fisher Branch, MB, on August 20, 2024)

Approximately $300,000 in stolen property was discovered. 

On Sept. 15, with the assistance of Stonewall RCMP, a 38-year-old Winnipeg man was arrested. 

He faces a long list of charges including, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 x16 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 x8. 

He remains in custody, and investigators believe he did not act alone. Further arrests are anticipated. 

All property has been returned to the rightful owners.
