Special Olympics Weyburn (SOW) held their annual general meeting this past Wednesday. According to their release, they saw successes across various fields.
Two bowling teams comprised of ten bowlers attended the annual Bob Pedde Tournament in Saskatoon. Three athletes brought home singles medals. Two athletes attended swim meets in Saskatoon and Regina, bringing home medals from both events.
Another SOW athlete made Team Sask in the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games in Calgary AB for bowling. The team took home a silver medal.
Regarding fundraising, SOW has two active ticket sales fundraisers. One is a Kal Tire package including a $1500 gift certificate for tires or emergency bags and blankets with a total value of $1650.00. The other is three gift baskets valuing $650, $500 and $375.
They also have a drop and go with SARCAN, recyclables can be donated by mentioning “SOW” at drop off.
They will be set up at the Weyburn Concert Series again this year serving baking and drinks.
