The Carstar Okotoks Bisons have announced their new captains for the 2024-2025 Heritage Junior B (HJHL) season.
Four returning players will be donning a letter on their jersey, with Jake Snashall as captain and Adam Kirkpatrick, Caden Scott, and Easton Dean serving as the assistants.
Snashall has played parts of three seasons with the Bisons and started his Junior B career with the High River Flyers. During the 2019-2020 season with the Flyers, he posted 46 points in 32 games. In playoffs that year he added another 11 points in nine games. With the Bisons, Snashall has played a total of 72 games across three seasons starting back in the 2021-2022 season with 94 points during that period. Snashall also posted nine points in 13 games in last season's playoffs during the Bisons' three-peat.
Kirkpatrick, one of the three who will wear the "A," has played in the past three seasons, totalling 140 points in 95 games. Kirkpatrick added another six points in 10 games during last year's post-season.
Scott, another of the assistant captains, has played the past two seasons with the herd on defence. He has provided the Bisons with some backend scoring posting 53 points in 74 games. In the post-season last year, Scott added five points in 13 games to complete the three-peat for the HJHL championship.
The third assistant captain, Dean, led the Bisons in points last season with 46 points in 35 games. This will be the forward's third year with Okotoks, and he has accumulated 75 points in 65 games during the previous two years with the Herd.
The Bisons will open up the season tomorrow night (Sept. 20) at 8:00 p.m. when they host the High River Flyers at Murray Arena.
