It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joseph "Joe" Christoper Dinwoodie, on September 18, 2024, at the Health Science Center at the age of 75 years.

Joe was born on October 25, 1948, son of the late Abe and Mary Dinwoodie, in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.  He married Doris Dzikowski in July 1974 and they built their life in Westbourne, Manitoba.

Joe leaves to mourn his beautiful daughters, Tiffany Dinwoodie and granddaughter Tiernee of Grand Prairie, AB and Brittany Sponarski (Jay) and granddaughters Aubrey and Kamryn of Portage la Prairie, MB; sister Pearl Prokosh, Ruby (Gord) Switzer, Bonnie (Bruce) Munro and Kim Dinwoodie; sisters-in-law Linda (Jim) Kirton, Shirley Dinwoodie and Kathy Dinwoodie along with numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.  He was predeceased by the love of his life Doris; parents Abe and Mary Dinwoodie; brothers Tom, Ted and Jack; in-laws Mike and Rose Dzikowski and brother-in-law John Dzikowski.

Joe was happiest surrounded by his family and friends.  He was known to them as Dad, Papa, Billy and Smokin’ Joe.  Westbourne was home and he enjoyed stopping in to have a quick chat with the neighbours.   He took pride in in Kenworth trucks, Joe was self-employed, and he built a successful hay business with his brother Tom.  He also enjoyed a social visit with cards laughs and a red solo cup.  

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Thursday, September 26th, 2024, at the Westbourne Longburn Community Club, with viewing to be held prior to the service at 12:00 pm.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

A tree will be planted and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.
