The Cochrane RCMP is hosting an outdoor ceremony in honour of Truth and Reconciliation Day on September 30, 2024.

The ceremony will take place in front of a tipi placed at the Cochrane detachment starting at 9:30 a.m.

“There will be a welcome prayer and a traditional smudging taking place," reads a release from the RCMP.

Attendees will also be able to hear stories from a residential school survivor.

The ceremony is open to everyone and participants are encouraged to wear orange.
