A junior high student was arrested on Monday after threatening staff and fellow students at a Winnipeg school. 

Winnipeg police say on Monday, at around 12:30 p.m., officers received a report of a threat to students and staff at a Winnipeg School Division school through a note found in a bathroom. 

The school was immediately put into lockdown as officers searched for the student believed to be the author of the note. 

About a half hour later, officers located and arrested the student in the 100 block of Cecil Street.

The student faces a charge of Utter Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm. They were released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
