Winnipeggers looking to help a good cause and find new material to read over the cooler season are encouraged to stop by St. Vital Centre this weekend.
The Children's Hospital Book Market will be set up in the busy mall this Friday and Saturday, with all proceeds going towards helping sick and injured kids at the HSC Children's Hospital.
Each year the Book Market raises between $300,000- $500,000 for specialized programming for kids in hospital. Last year, the Spring Book Market raised an all-time one-day record of over $182,000.
To make the event possible, the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba uses help from more than 400 volunteers.
"Without the generosity of those people, without the time and the love for what they do in supporting sick and injured kids, this would not be possible," said the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
The Children's Hospital Book Fall Book Market will happen Friday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sat. Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at St. Vital Centre.
