Hollywood movie star Mickey Rourke now has a piece of Cochrane artwork in his Los Angeles home thanks to a local teen.
Thirteen-year-old Milla White from Cochrane just returned from a special trip to Hollywood, where she presented the star with one of her drawings featuring his beloved dog Ruby, who had sadly just passed away.
“I've been taking drawing lessons for like two months now and then my teacher was telling me about the people that he drew drawings for including Mickey Rourke,” says Milla. “He told me about his dog and how they had a relationship for 23 years, and it was a very special bond. I wanted to honour that and decided to draw a drawing of his dog to commemorate.”
From there, the teen took to Instagram to shoot her shot of presenting the piece of art to the movie star.
“Once I finished drawing, I filmed a video of myself saying, hey, I drew this drawing of Ruby, and then after that, he DM’d me right away. He texted us his address, and we booked our tickets to L.A.”
Milla and her family were able to give Rourke the art while visiting in his Hollywood livingroom.
“I was very nervous but excited because I've seen him in the movies when he was younger, so I didn't know what to expect. But once we came in he was very warm and kind. He brought us in and let us sit down and we just started talking with him.”
“Once we handed [the drawing] to him, he was like, oh, thank you so much. Gave me a hug and then he put it on his side table. Since he's moving, I think he'll be packing it away but then putting it up on his wall again.”
