Cochrane teacher introduces kindness mascot

Kindness is taught at home and in the classroom. A local teacher has found a unique way to encourage her students to be kind.

Mrs. Williams (grade 3 teacher at Glenbow) has an unusual mascot in the classroom. 

It’s a stuffed fox named Rupert!

When a student finds Rupert the kindness mascot on their desk in the morning, that means they have been spotted showing kindness. 

Rupert gives them a little note explaining the kind act and then hangs out with that student for the day. 

The student then becomes the kindness detective for a day and gives Mrs. Williams the name of another student they spotted doing something kind.

Rupert the kindness mascot travels around the room all year.
