There will be a change in the mayor’s seat in Humboldt.
Michael Behiel has announced that he will not be seeking another term as mayor.
Behiel released the following statement.
After much consideration, and thought, I have chosen not to seek reelection. I wanted to take this opportunity to express my thanks and gratitude to the citizens of Humboldt for the privilege of allowing me to lead this City for the last four years. Although I was not able to accomplish all I had wanted to, I hope that council and I were able to make it a better place for all. I am confident that my replacement and council will continue to work hard to see that all of our needs are met and to ensure ongoing success in making Humboldt an amazing place to live, work, and play.
Thank you all, it has been an honour.
The municipal election is Wednesday, November 13.
