A dog show in High River was recently held to raise money for Heaven Can Wait Animal Rescue.
Organizer and emcee of the Dog Show, Bethan Willoughby, says the event went well.
"We had only about 7 dogs enter, I think, but we had a bunch of people, and even just other dogs, coming and supporting the event and watching it," Willoughby explains. "So, we had people pay their entrance fee and we also had people donating extra money."
Willoughby adds that people and dogs seemed to have fun at the Dog Show.
"It was really fun. I definitely want to try and do it again. I'm hoping to do it, probably, in June this coming year, since I'll probably be away at university in September."
There were prizes for the top dogs at the event.
Willoughby says there were a few events that stood out.
"The cutest outfit one was pretty cute. It was really awesome to see all the dogs dressed up. That one was nice. The fastest dog one was pretty good, too, 'cause some people, their dogs didn't really want to cooperate, so it was kinda cute watching them. But then there were also some really fast dogs."
In total, the dog show brought in $300 for Heaven Can Wait.
