Didsbury is set to welcome an influx of fans from across the globe as it becomes a hotspot for devotees of the TV show Wynonna Earp during this week's Earptopia Convention.
Hundreds of fans, known as "Earpers," are gathering in nearby Calgary for the event, but on Thursday, October 3, over 200 of them will make their way to Didsbury for a special day dedicated to the show.

The town, which served as the filming location for much of the series, was famously transformed into the fictional town of Purgatory, the home of Wynonna Earp's titular character.
Wynonna Earp, which initially aired from 2016 to 2021, recently saw the release of a new installment as a Tubi Original in 2024. The series follows Wynonna Earp, the great-great-granddaughter of legendary lawman Wyatt Earp, as she reluctantly takes on the role of demon protector in her hometown.
In celebration of its connection to the show, Didsbury has organized a scavenger-hunt-style tour highlighting key filming locations around town and a special showcase of some of its most iconic props.
"We are very proud to share our town with these fans,” said Mayor Rhonda Hunter. "Many of the convention guests come from around the world, including Asia, Australia, Europe, and the United States. It’s exciting to welcome them to Didsbury, which holds a special place in the *Wynonna Earp* universe as Purgatory."
Local businesses and attractions will participate in the day’s festivities, including a "Taste of Purgatory" lunch. For fans unable to attend on October 3, the scavenger hunt will be available again on Monday, October 7, with tickets available online. The prop showcase will also be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Fans are eager to experience the charm of Didsbury while walking the streets of the fictional town they’ve come to love, with many travelling from distant corners of the globe to participate in this unique celebration.
