While Cochrane’s real estate market continues to be a seller's paradise, home prices in the area continue to be comparable to similar markets in southern Alberta.
The September report was just released by The Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB) showing that Cochrane has seen a 9.3 per cent year-over-year increase in the benchmark price of detached homes which now sits at $681,800.
When going head-to-head with neighbouring communities, Cochrane sits firmly in the middle when it comes to detached home prices.
Calgary’s home prices settled in at $757,100 for the month of September with a 8.8 per cent growth from this time last year.
Okotoks ($713,400), Chestermere ($815,700) and Canmore ($1,674,900) all sit above the average in Cochrane.
Communities with lower benchmarks include Strathmore ($538,200), High River ($571,200) and Airdrie ($651,600).

The report goes on to say while Cochrane is seeing a growth in supply levels, the town remains well below long-term trends.
