Weyburn's Market from the Farm wrapped up its summer season with a successful final market this past Saturday, drawing twice the number of attendees compared to previous events. Organizer Alissa Bjorn expressed her heartfelt thanks to the community for their support throughout the summer.

"We were extremely excited to have twice the number of people coming out and enjoying the flowers, fresh air, weather, and the vendors."

The Market featured many first-time vendors, all thrilled with their experience.

"It means so much to us to have the community's support. We've done five of them. We started in May and did it once a month, and just to watch it grow and the buzz growing in town—it's incredible. So many people say, 'This is what Weyburn needs,' and we look forward to it every time. We're sharing it with our friends, and that just hits home every time."

One of the day's highlights was the BBQ, which sold out quickly. Bjorn says that community members are already asking when it will be coming back.

Bjorn says that the origin of Market on the Farm is something that she holds very close to her heart, stating that family keeps the Market together.

"It actually came out of dreaming about having a flower garden with my 10-year-old daughter," Bjorn explained. "I broke my leg during the icy season in January, and while I had a lot of time looking at flower seeds online, the idea grew into, 'Where can we share this with people?' That led to us creating our own Market."

Looking to the future, Bjorn hinted at plans for a Christmas market. It may be smaller and indoors, but they have some great ideas to make it unique.

As the Market looks ahead to future events, Bjorn expressed her gratitude to everybody who came out and encouraged the Market online.
