Caregivers in Canada are eligible for an award.

The Canada Cares Canadian Abilities Foundation is hosting their Canada Cares Awards again this year, which will not only honour family caregivers and healthcare professionals, but could also provide some financial assistance.

As part of this, they will be awarding a Family Caregiver award, a Professional Caregiver award, and a One Wish award, which will provide financial assistance to those who win this award.

With the One Wish award comes $10,000 that will go towards everyday needs and exceptional circumstances.

"Our Canada Cares Awards support deserving families from coast to coast, tell stories of heroes who've gone the extra mile, and build awareness around the challenges of caregiving," said Caroline Tapp-McDougall, Founder of Canada Cares in a media release.

Family caregivers and healthcare professionals who demonstrate exceptional dedication and commitment to those who are under their care are eligible for regional recognition awards and potentially some financial supports.

Over the last decade, over 400 individuals have been awarded a recognition award, and numerous have received One Wish financial awards, which have helped them purchase equipment, respite services, basic necessities, and transportation assistance.

The deadline for nominations is December 31.
