Born and raised Airdronian musician Edwardson walked away with some hardware at the YYC Music Awards.
He captured the Emerging Artist of 2024 award, sponsored by The Prophets of Music (POM). POM is an innovative, not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting emerging artists in the creation of exceptional music and pursuing "music for good" initiatives.
When talking with DiscoverAirdrie, Edwardson was very grateful and shocked to win the award.
"The other nominees in that category were and are amazing like it was a pretty stacked group of nominees. Genuinely, any single one of them that would have won would have deserved it. So when my name was called, I was just so surprised and so excited."
When asked about what is next after winning the award, Edwardson shared that he has a lot more music planned for 2025.
"I can't share all the details yet because I want to keep some surprises. I also plan to spend some time working with The Prophets of Music."
Growing up, living just a couple of blocks from George McDougall High School, he recalls fond memories of walking to the Plainsman Arena for hockey and the time spent at Tower Lane Mall, which used to be an indoor hub of activity, he said.
Edwardson's musical journey began playing in church with his family, and his school years were filled with talent shows and local bands.
Now living in Calgary, Edwardson is working on music full-time, producing for not only himself but other artists as well.
Last week he released a new single called "Blame". It captures the complex emotions of difficult relationships.
For fans wanting to dive into his music, “Blame” is available on major streaming platforms, and its music video premiered last week on YouTube.
