The 'Superman House' in High River is set to reopen as Mystic Manor today (Oct. 4).
The house's longtime association as the Superman House comes from the 1983 film Superman 3.
The house stood in as the home of Lana Lang, then Clark Kent's romantic interest in high school according to DC comic lore.
It also reportedly has actual ghosts haunting the turn-of-the-century home that was originally built in 1905.
The town of High River itself doubled as 'Smallville' during the filming including using Spitzee Elementary School as the mythical town's high school.
The owner of the home, Faye Steinberg, has always been interested in the paranormal from an early age.
We spoke last year, and Steinberg laid out her future plans then.
"It's going to be a fantastic year-round haunted house experience. That, in a nutshell, is maybe the best way to describe it. I've been given this incredible opportunity to be able to breathe life back into that house and to restore her to her former glory. And in doing so one of my passion projects for many years was to open a year-round haunted house experience and we feel very passionate and connected to High River and I thought, 'Okay, this is it. This is the place to do Mystic Manor."
That's right, from the Superman House to Mystic Manor, but it's going to be a whole lot more than just a year-round haunted house attraction.
Steinberg is also a psychic medium that works with law enforcement and plans to incorporate that into the 'experience' visitors will have at Mystic Manor.
"There will be some haunted elements, as well as a seance room, an escape-type experience."
For a tour of the spooky place, it'll cost you $39.99 for 85 minutes.
