Rocky View Schools (RVS) Superintendent Greg Luterbach gave an update yesterday on this year's enrolment.
What was originally planned to be the final update, final numbers were not yet ready, so the final update was moved to the next RVS Board of Trustees meeting in two weeks.
"Our finance team are working with schools, maybe a student is registered in two spots, so they are figuring that out."
Back in January, RVS submitted to the government their projected enrolment for this school year. According to the division, it's complicated to predict the enrolment growth but RVS predicted they would be at 29,350 students.
Back at the beginning of September, RVS enrolment was around the 29,300 mark.
"As of last Friday, we were at 29,256, so as I said a couple of weeks ago, we are going to end up a little bit short of our projection, nothing substantial or shattering."
At the final enrolment update, a breakdown of each school's population will be presented. Airdrie continues to hold one of the largest student populations within Rocky View Schools.
