Co-op Gas Bar presents the St. Augustine Reading Program the proceeds of this year's Fuel Good Day
Categories

This year's Fuel Good Day with Co-op was a big success.

On September 16, Co-op gas bars across western Canada donated a minimum of five cents per litre of fuel to a local registered charity or non-profit organization. In Humboldt, the recipient was the St. Augustine Reading Program.

On Thursday, Co-op made a cheque presentation of $4349.89 to the St. Augustine Reading Program.

Heather Stomp is a Grade 3 teacher at St. Augustine, and she appreciated for the reading program to be this year’s recipient of Fuel Good Day.

“Our school, our staff, our students were really excited that we were chosen for the Fuel Up Day, it’s just an honour to be selected and we were pretty excited about it.”

Stomp explains the reading program helps both the students and teachers at St. Augustine School.

“These are materials that teachers specifically pull and use for teaching for small group reading instruction.”

Stomp added, “really excited about the opportunity to be able to grow our collection and to be able to provide students with more book choices at varied reading levels for our kids.”
