Cochrane acclaimed author and blogger Lynn Dove has won her third Word Award for her blog “Peace in the Midst of Calamity.”
She brings comfort to many with her account of a real-life situation where she helped find sanctuary for the family of her son and daughter-in-law at a stressful time.
Their home in Cochrane was extensively damaged by an overflowing sink that forced them to seek refuge while repairs where completed. Her daughter-in-law runs a day-home and had taken the kids out for a walk. When they came back 40 minutes later the house was flooded.
"The whole idea was when I got this call, I could tell they were frazzled and panicked," says Dove, "And I just sent out a help me prayer to God and said please let this house be a source of peace in the midst of calamity, and it was."
"It's a little story about what happens in real life, and I guess the readers at Word Guild who run the awards they must have thought it was a sweet little story, so I'm very delighted that they liked it."
