The area affected by the closure is located along the Red Deer River valley bottom, bounded by McConnell Creek to the west and Banff National Park's eastern boundary.

Visitors are advised to respect the closure for their safety and the community's well-being. Anyone in the closed area may face penalties under the Canada National Parks Act, with maximum fines reaching $25,000.
