It was a windy one in Weyburn on Saturday, with wind gusts reported to be upwards of 102 km/h.

While some residents, like Gerry Ruckaber, saw minimal damage from the winds, others saw downed trees and loss of shingles.

Gerry Ruckaber noted there was minimal damage in their yard, just some sticks

The wind saw the cancelation of the Weyburn Kinsmen's Annual Pumpkin Roll and the Weyburn Landfill was also closed for most of the day.

When winds subsided on Sunday, many residents were out hunting for yard items that had blown away or, in the case of Country 106 Morning Host Dara Currie, trying to collect all the recycling that blew into her driveway.

Fortunately, the weather is supposed to be both calmer and warmer this week which will give residents plenty of opportunity to clean up the mess the wind left behind.
