Operation Red Nose Winnipeg has partnered with a new host organization as we head into the upcoming festive season.

After almost three decades of supporting the work of Operation Red Nose in Winnipeg, Manta Swim Club has handed over the reins to the Winnipeg Kids Foundation, a newly created non-profit focused on helping underprivileged Winnipeg youth.

“Manta Swim Club has been a tremendous partner with Operation Red Nose Winnipeg, and we thank them for their exceptional drive to help get people home safely in the festive season,” said Matthew Barber, president of Winnipeg Kids Foundation.

This change comes with plenty of changes behind the scenes, which also comes at a cost. This includes a new website and social media pages, replacing hospitality equipment to feed volunteers and investments in upgrading cellphone equipment and computer systems.

"Starting anew isn’t easy," said Barber. "We’re hoping Winnipeggers can help us as we come up to the holiday season.”

To help in this effort, Operation Red Nose has started an earlier and larger fundraising drive than normal this year.

"We are hopeful that Winnipeggers and local businesses will help,” said Elisha Dacey, Volunteer Media Liaison for Operation Red Nose Winnipeg.

An official launch of the holiday campaign will happen in mid-November.
