A 16-year-old male has died following a report of a shooting.
On October 5, at approximately 6:02 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 500 block of Boyd Avenue, for the report of a gun call.
North District General Patrol officers attended and located a male youth victim in the area of Boyd/Andrews suffering from life-threatening injuries sustained from a discharged firearm. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
The Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation and has now identified the victim as a 16-year-old, male from Winnipeg. Notifications to the family have been made.
