The High River Flyers have yet to register a win during the 2024-2025 HJHL season.
They're 0-5-1 so far after losing to the Airdrie Techmation Thunder on Friday (Oct. 4) and then falling to the Coaldale Copperheads on Saturday.
The Flyers have still yet to play a home game this season due to renovations at Bob Snodgrass Rec Plex.
Friday's game saw the Flyers get on the board with goals but the Thunder came out on top. Lucas Gough opened up the scoring for the Flyers with Isaac Cayetano and Owen Grant getting the helpers.
The Thunder would then take the lead with two goals of their own in the first period. Flyer's forward Cody Steinert tied the game up in the second with assists coming from Evan Thachuk and Jonah Thomas. Airdrie scored another goal in the third to retake their one-goal lead and then cement the game with a goal in the third.
Kaiden Fulton made 32 saves in the Flyers loss.
On Saturday, High River would get shut out by the Coaldale Copperheads in a 4-0 game. Kashton Payne made 30 saves in the losing effort.
The Flyers will be back on the ice on Friday (Oct. 11) when they visit Cochrane to face the Generals.
Then they'll head back to Coladale to face the Copperheads on Sunday. Friday's game starts at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday's game is a 5:00 p.m. start.
At the end of the weekend, eight separate players were handed suspensions with five players being handed six games suspensions, one being handed three games, another being handed two games, and the final player being handed one game.
Jeff Gardner the head coach is also receiving a suspension.
The suspensions were due to conduct in both games.
