Immunization appointments are now open for eligible Albertans.
As of Monday (Oct. 7) both COVID-19 and influenza immunization appointments are able to be booked for appointments that are available to the general public starting on October 15.
On top of that, immunization appointments for Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) are currently being booked for openings that begin on October 21.
"As fall approaches, it’s important to plan ahead against circulating respiratory viruses. I strongly encourage everyone to consult with their local pharmacist, doctor or health care provider to make informed decisions about their health and ensure they’re well-prepared for the season," said the Minister of Health, Adiana LaGrange in a media release.
As part of this season's immunization, continuing care homes and senior supportive living accommodations residents that are 60 years old and older will have access to the publicly funded Abrysvo vaccine through the Alberta Outreach Program to help protect them against RSV.
Those who are 75 years of age or older will have access to a limited supply of provincially funded Abrysvo vaccine.
