The Sait Trojans were welcomed to the Viking Rentals Centre with a great turnout of young ladies in attendance watching the Trojans down the Medicine Hat Rattlers 1-0 on Sunday (Oct. 6).

The Trojans came to Okotoks to play in part with their Women's Hockey Showdown Exhibition series.

Kaylin Schellenberg who has been on the Trojans since the 2018-2019 season played in her first game of the 2024-2025 season, picking up a shutout with 24 saves. The final shot count was 36-24 in favour of the Trojans.

The game would go scoreless until Sydney Hollman for the Trojans scored a powerplay goal with 1:59 left in the third period. Kaylan Easson and Jessa Brewer picked up the assists on the game-winning goal.

During the intermissions, they made sure to showcase local girls' hockey with a scrimmage from the U9s hin the first intermission followed by the U15 AA girls with a shoot-to-win from centre ice.

The Trojans' next game is set for Friday (Oct. 18) when they host the Redd Deer Polytechnic at WInsport, game time is set for 6:45 p.m.
