Less than three weeks remain until the provincial election in Saskatchewan on Monday, October 28.

There are six candidates running in the Humboldt-Watrous constituency including Carrie Ann Hradecki of the Sask United Party.

Hradecki resides in Bruno and currently is a substitute teacher in the Horizon and Saskatoon Catholic School Divisions.

She has over 25 years of experience in teaching which has allowed her to work with families across the province, ranging from small towns, cities like Saskatoon and Prince Albert and First Nation communities that has allowed her to work with diverse populations.

The Sask United Party believes in the freedom of the individual and that it’s not up to government to micromanage Hradecki explains. She added the Sask United Party stands for less government overreach and more autonomy for people in their constituencies, rural municipalities and towns.

Affordability

Through her canvassing, Hradecki says affordability is likely the number one issue that concerns residents. She says it’s a priority to make life affordable for people.

“Sask United Party plans to cut the PST in half and axe the gas tax and also plan to offer 65% discount on property taxes for citizens 65 and older population for their primary residence.”

Hradecki added the Sask United Party plans to cut red tape and government related to make building a home less expensive and helping businesses.

She also noted the Sask United Party is committed to eliminating the provincial Gas Tax.

Healthcare

When it comes to healthcare, Hradecki says residents are frustrated by the current wait times for doctors.

“We plan to recruit and retain more doctors and nurses and create more efficiencies in operation of our healthcare system.”

Another part of the Sask United Party platform would allow the private sector to build healthcare infrastructure but will continue to have universal health care access to all residents.

Education

When it comes to education, Hradecki says parental rights are a priority for many citizens within the constituency.

“At Sask United, we believe that parents should be informed and should have the right to refuse educational agendas that they are not comfortable with.”

She also said the Sask United will remove ideology from the education curriculum so that schools are places of learning and not forums for activism and indoctrination.

Hradecki also said apart of the party’s platform, that if post-secondary institutions fail to uphold and defend freedom of their campuses, they will face defunding.

As well, she says the Sask United Party will implement standardized testing. This will be done to identify disconnects and develop effective strategies to address them.

Hradecki says she has a hard work ethic and values of humility, honesty and integrity and promises to be represent the area.

“I would be a strong voice in Regina for the people of Humboldt-Watrous- for families, for seniors, for young people, for immigrants, for special needs people, for small business owners, for farmers and ranchers and for everyone who needs representation.”
