Tuesday morning brought another edition of Ripple Effect presented by the Red River Basin Commission (RRBC). Municipality of Rhineland Reeve, and Director on the Commission's board, Don Wiebe was our guest in studio. He joined CFAM Radio 950 Morning Show host Chris Sumner to share an update on the latest work of the South Chapter of the organization, which including municipalities south of Winnipeg along the Red River.
"Since a strategy was adopted, the concept that the management of water be based on a watershed basis, all municipalities are collaborating with this, creating water management goals, strategies and action plans," he explained. "This includes water conservation, protection of diversity and ecosystems, water quality and supply needs, and all the related infrastructure that goes with that."
Meanwhile, the South Chapter of the RRBC will be hosting its 9th annual Holiday Fundraising Gala November 14th at the Morris Multiplex.
"This event is well attended by representatives from municipalities communities, provincial government and industry from across the province," he shared. "This event includes a networking reception, dinner and this year for the entertainment a casino."
