Though police would not comment on whether youth were involved in the incident, it was widely discussed on social media, with residents voicing concerns about the altercation. The incident comes several weeks after an alleged altercation erupted between youths near a local business complex near Luxstone Boulevard late last month.

"The Airdrie RCMP has a dedicated team of community and school resource officers who maintain healthy relationships within the community, and schools, in order to educate and prevent similar incidents from occurring. As Airdrie has a large and growing population of families and youth, the Airdrie RCMP has put these resources in place to help maintain safety within the city," RCMP added.

Although police said they would not release any investigative techniques or procedures at this time, they urged witnesses or anyone with further information to contact the Airdrie RCMP.
