Two more pedestrian bridges (replacing older ones) at Nose Creek Park are now mostly complete and open to the public.
Ryan Couillard, a Project Manager for the City of Airdrie who spoke with DiscoverAirdrie explained the replacement projects opened up to the public at the beginning of the month, but more work is yet to be completed on them.
"We still have some landscaping work that needs to happen off the edge of the pathways on both of the bridges, but they will remain open."
Couillard explained some more work will also need to take place underneath the bridges which will require them to be closed for around four hours.
"That's yet to be scheduled, but that's going to happen on both of the structures."
The construction of the bridges started around the beginning of June. They did see a few delays during construction like supply chain issues and the weather not cooperating.
Five out of eight bridges have now been replaced in Nose Creek Park.
Last summer, three bridges throughout the park were replaced, next year two more will be done, along with another two in 2026 as long as Airdrie council includes them in the budgets. One of those replaced in 2026 is just south of Yankee Valley Boulevard.
"We appreciate everyone's patience, and hopefully they can get out there and enjoy the bridges while there's still some sunshine."
Back in August, Airdrie unveiled the new playground at Nose Creek Park as they replaced the old one.
When you go to the playground, you will notice a QR code where you can provide feedback on the playground.
According to the city, the playground also has inclusive elements, so everybody should be able to play with some part of it
