Lucille Johanna Wuchner (née Crone)
September 27, 1943 – October 6, 2024

It is with great sadness the family of Lucille Wuchner announces her passing on October 6, 2024, at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt, Saskatchewan. She was 81 years of age. Lucille ‘Lucy’ Wuchner (née Crone) was born on September 27, 1943, and was the youngest of 13 born to Henry and Maria Crone. Lucy grew up on the farm north of Annaheim, Saskatchewan, following in the footsteps of her brothers and sisters. In 1963, Lucy married the love of her life, Martin Wuchner. They began their life together on the family farm near St. Gregor, SK. Together, they raised their three children, Gerry, Lyle, and Dawn. Farming and community were a huge part of their lives which created lasting friendships and memories. Alongside farming, Lucy took pride in her garden always producing a bountiful harvest every year. Her kids are still trying to match her gardening skills! Lucy’s children and grandchildren relied on advice for all things baking and preserving. In her later years, nothing brightened her day more than personal visits or phone calls with her grandchildren. Lucy moved to Humboldt in 2000 and remained there until her health declined in July of 2024. Until then, her yard remained immaculate, her garden well-tended, and her house freezers filled to the brim with her baking and prepped meals. Above all else, her greatest legacy is her family. She taught them that patience, perseverance and hard work never fail. Lucy will forever be missed by her family: Gerry (Sheldon), their children: Hannah, Haley, Emma, and Lucas; Lyle, his children: Cole and Paige; and Dawn (Amory), their children: Porter and Braxton. Lucille fought the good fight; she finished the race and is rewarded with eternal unity alongside our amazing dad, Martin, in Heaven. The Funeral Mass was held at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, SK, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 10:30 am celebrated by Fr. Colin Roy. Others taking part were: Porter Walliser, cross bearer; Hannah Scheck and Haley Scheck, scripture readers; Paige Wuchner, intentions; Emma Scheck, Braxton Walliser, and Cole Wuchner, gift bearers; and Tanya Wuchner and Leanne Wuchner, memorial table attendants. Music ministry was provided by the St. Augustine Parish Funeral Choir, directed by Loretta Schugmann. Active pallbearers were Amory Walliser, Porter Walliser, Sheldon Scheck, Lucas Scheck, Cole Wuchner, and Paige Wuchner. A memorial luncheon was held following the mass at St. Augustine Parish Hall, with a slide show created by Loriann Wuchner. Interment took place at St. Gregory Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Gregor, Saskatchewan. Memorial donations can be directed to St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church - Cemetery Fund (P.O. Box 51, St. Gregor, SK, S0K 3X0).
