The Environmental Appeals Board wants to hear from locals in the Foothills regarding the proposed biodigester.
Approval for the Rimrock Biodigester Facility was granted by the Director of Alberta Environment and Protected Areas on December 11, 2023.
The file number is 484778-00-00 for those wishing to submit an appeal.
The Board is now accepting appeals until next Friday, October 18, 2024.
The appeal must be submitted via fax or by email and it's the applicant's responsibility to ensure the appeal was received.
You must include your name, address, email, telephone and fax numbers as well as indicate if you are being represented by a lawyer or agent. If you do have a lawyer or agent representing, you're asked to also include their name and include a summary of the person's interest in the appeal.
The Environmental Appeals Board is a separate and independent body made up of environmental experts. The Board reviews certain decisions made by Alberta Environment and Protected Areas.
The government release also states that applications will only be considered if they feel it will assist in their decision however, they will not accept applications if its the same information provided by other applicants.
The Rimrock plant and proposed site of the biodigester is located approximately 5 kilometres west of High River.
